Teams RTMP-In needs new firewall rules before mid-July

If you stream into Teams events with an external encoder, your firewall needs a change before mid-July.

What to do now:
• Allow outbound access to ports 50118 and 50119.
• Allow the domain rtmpingest.mcr.teams.cloud.microsoft and its subdomains.
• Test a Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) event end to end before the cutoff.

Microsoft is updating the RTMP-In port and domain requirements for streaming into Teams meetings, webinars, and town halls. The rollout runs through July 2026. New RTMP-In events created after mid-July will fail without the updated network access — though events already configured will keep working through the end of 2026.

The Catch: this is the kind of change that doesn’t surface until a town hall goes live and the encoder can’t connect. The teams it affects — AV, events, internal comms — usually aren’t the ones managing firewall rules, so it falls through the cracks.

Run external encoders into Teams events? Let’s make sure your network and your production setup are both ready well before the deadline.
