Updates to B2B guest MFA in Microsoft Entra ID will soon allow external users to register and sign in with passkeys to satisfy cross-tenant authentication rules.
Starting in October 2026, Microsoft Entra ID will let B2B guest users register passkeys directly within the inviting resource tenant. The capability rolls out globally through February 2027 and stays enabled by default across Microsoft 365 environments.
