Delta Air Lines, a major player in the aviation industry, embarked on an innovative project to integrate a cloud-based SharePoint solution for enhanced emergency preparedness, focusing on high availability and disaster recovery. This initiative aimed to streamline user authentication processes, aligning with Delta’s commitment to security and efficiency.
Challenge
Delta sought a solution that would allow their employees to authenticate seamlessly using their internal Active Directory credentials, enabling straightforward access to the new SharePoint environment without compromising security.
What We Did
The project involved intricate planning and execution, including rigorous testing phases and coordination among various stakeholders. By leveraging Microsoft Gold partner support, we ensured architectural design excellence and adherence to best practices throughout the large-scale implementation. The solution incorporated multiple authentication methods: ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services) for single sign-on access, smartcard authentication, and integration with PingFederate Identity Provider.
The Result
The implementation was a resounding success, offering Delta employees a seamless single sign-on experience between their internal network and the cloud-based SharePoint platform. This initiative significantly reduced management overhead, requiring minimal maintenance while ensuring a secure, efficient workflow and access system for all users.
